About MOTS-c
MOTS-c (mitochondrial open reading frame of the 12S rRNA type-c) is a 16-amino-acid peptide, sequence MRWQEMGYIFYPRKLR, encoded in mitochondrial rather than nuclear DNA. It was described in 2015 by Changhan Lee’s team.
Research concerns AMPK activation and cellular metabolic regulation in cell and animal models.
