About Bacteriostatic water
Bacteriostatic water is sterile water containing 0.9 % benzyl alcohol (9 mg/ml). The preservative limits bacterial growth once the vial has been pierced, which is why laboratories use it to reconstitute freeze-dried peptides.
It differs from water for injection sold in pharmacies, which contains no preservative.
Supplied in a 3 ml glass vial with rubber stopper and aluminium crimp cap. Store at room temperature (15–25 °C), away from light.
